Security Policies
Banking Proxy
Divvi provides a service that acts as a proxy between you and your bank. This is used when you perform actions such as topping up your wallet, or linking a bank account. The proxy service is simply a way for you to access your bank’s online banking system using Divvi’s servers. It enables you to top-up your Divvi wallet without having to leave the app, and means we can confirm the transaction near instantly. At no point in this process does Divvi save or store your banking credentials.
Data Security
When using Divvi, nobody else can access or see your data. All communications from you to Divvi, and from Divvi to your bank are encrypted using the industry standard Transport Layer Security (TLS).
Customer Data
Divvi never collects data such as banking credentials. This means:
- No caching of requests on our servers
- No capturing or storing third party usernames and passwords
- Your sensitive information remains between you and your bank
Encryption & Storage
We use encryption to help protect your Divvi account details and store that information securely on our servers. On the web, “https:” and a lock next to the web address is your signal that your connection is secured using encryption.
Account Protection
If you’ve lost your phone or suspect that it is being used in an unauthorized way, you can contact us via support@divvi.co.nz.
Divvi requires that you configure a passcode in the app. This passcode helps prevent someone with your phone getting access your Divvi wallet. Your passcode must remain private in order to protect your Divvi account effectively.
Keep Yourself Safe
Divvi is designed for payments between friends and people who trust each other. Try to avoid potentially high risk payments like payments on buy/sell sites. Divvi offers no buyer or seller protection. Commercial use of Divvi is not currently supported or recommended.
Responsible Disclosure
Our team works vigilantly to keep customer information secure. We recognize our user community plays an important role in helping to keep Divvi and our customers secure. If you discover a site or product vulnerability please notify us at security@divvi.co.nz.
